Opalescence Boost Whitening
OPALESCENCE BOOST WHITENING suits those patients that prefer to sit back and relax, whilst the professionals do all the work. You can watch our overhead TVs. After about one hour, you will leave our practice with whiter teeth.
For the iDental Opalescence Boost Whitening system, you will need to make sure that we check your teeth prior to beginning, which may include X-rays, or you can forward the most recent ones to us beforehand. During your first appointment, we take models to make a whitening maintenance kit for you. The second visit is the whitening procedure. Here is a rundown of the procedure:
Step 1: We activate the Opalescence whitening gel.
Step 2: Your lips and gums are protected with barriers to avoid irritation.
Step 3: We apply the Opalescence Boost gel to your teeth. You can choose to simply activate the whitening gel with the LED light therapy, or provide you with collagen induction LED (red light therapy) for your entire face along with the blue LED whitening accelerating light.
Step 4: The Opalescence Boost procedure involves 2-3 applications within the appointment for maximum whitening
Step 5: At the completion of the procedure, we will provide you with a refining whitening kit to take home to further "Boost" your result
Step 6: Enjoy the whitening Boost!

Opalescence Take Home Whitening
For those who prefer to whiten at a slower, gentler pace due to tooth sensitivity, use the Opalescence Whitening Gel System. We take models of your teeth, and then within 24 hours, we provide our
take home Opalescence whitening system. This is simple and effective to use. In fact, we love this system so much, that the entire iDental team has undertaken Opalescence take home whitening.

Resin Veneers
Dr D'Anna has completed thousands of dental resin veneer treatments. Dr D'Anna uses exquisite resin materials that polish highly and have a natural lustre. Treatment usually involves multiple front teeth to transform gaps, crowding and misshapen teeth into a fully customised smile that has symmetry and great aesthetic design.

Porcelain Veneers
Our porcelain veneers are custom designed to suit each smile and face. Our porcelain laboratory is located in Kew, and our technicians work closely with us to perfect our results.

Truline Invisible Orthodontics - Get that Smile
The TRU-LINE Invisible Orthodontic System uses a series of transparent plastic aligners to move your teeth. Mild to moderate crowding of your teeth, space closure and many other types of orthodontic problems can be corrected. Each aligner is worn for about 2 weeks before progressing to the next one in the series. Aligners are worn full time and only removed for eating, drinking, brushing and flossing.

Referral to a specialist orthodontist is made for more advanced movement of teeth.

Children's Dentistry
The whole iDental team love seeing our younger patients and caring for their oral health. Bringing your children in with you to your appointment helps familiarise them with our practice environment so they’ll be more relaxed when having their check-up. Dr. D’Anna has children herself, and understands the importance of patience, care and the extra TLC that children need.

General Dental, Cleans, Prevention and Fillings
Having regular check and cleans is important as children develop their oral cleaning habits, and whilst their bite is developing. Aside from this, children are able to learn that dental visits can be fun, and they get to know the iDental team, just like we are family.
When dental work is needed, we show a lot of care, and always explain in simple terms to the child, what we are doing, why we are doing it and how it will feel. We are very comfortable placing sealants in children's teeth when needed, and are happy to provide sports mouthguards. We also participate in the Child Dental Benefits Scheme (CDBS).

Sometimes, teeth can be very weak from decay, large old fillings or just wear that leads to cracks. Teeth like this are fragile and with future use will likely fracture uncontrollably. So at iDental we intervene to stop this end cycle by placing a porcelain crown, also known as a cap, over the tooth.
Crowns are sometimes advised when a filling is not suitable due to the weakness of remaining tooth structure.
The process is simple, and our crowns are made in a state-of-the-art porcelain facility located in Kew. We work directly with the laboratory to produce a beautiful, natural looking result for you. And we never, ever send our work to facilities outside of Australia, so that we can guarantee the quality of the end result.

By using a number of crowns that are joined together, we can replace a number of missing teeth. There are some crowns that fit over teeth like regular crowns, and then some artificial crowns that replace the actual missing teeth. Bridges are fixed in the mouth and are very useful for patients that prefer non-surgical treatment, with a shorter time for replacement, as there are usually only two appointments needed.

Implants have been used since the 1970's, but are technologically superior to their early counterparts. Modern innovation means that implants are highly successful, and appear just like a natural tooth.
Dental implants can be used in many different combinations, to replace any number of teeth. Implants at iDental are managed between our dentists and our highly skilled specialist team that we regularly work with.

Grinding and Jaw Pain
TMJ Disorder or TMD is caused by the improper function of the temporomandibular joint.
The jaw joint is a ball and socket joint, with a ligament disc between the two parts of the joint. When the joint is not working properly, the disc may be swollen in some areas, and thinned out in others. This leads to non-smooth movement of the joint. Often this is heard as clicking. Long-term swelling can lead to improper, limited or painful movement of the jaw.
Assessment usually involves a full mouth X-ray to visualise the joint, measuring and recording the movement of the jaw, and other tests.
Grinding and jaw pain is often caused by many factors, and needs to be addressed as a team approach, usually involving our local physiotherapist.

TMJ Disorder can be identified by a range of symptoms, including:
  • Tooth sensitivity, and damaged and worn teeth
  • Headaches and Migraines
  • Aching or stiffness in the jaw
  • Clicking or popping of your jaw
TMJ Disorder Treatment
Once we have assessed your teeth and associated structures, we can treat you with a bite splint, and sometimes this is in conjunction with muscle relaxing injectables.

Muscle Relaxants

Muscle-relaxing injectables have traditionally been used for many medical applications over the years, and are a highly effective and safe way to treat TMJ disorder. By blocking some of the muscle contraction that causes the grinding, the joint and associated muscles are held in a more relaxed position, allowing the swelling within the joint to subside. This will also lead to less tooth wear, slimming of the face through muscle activity decrease, and a reduction in pain.
Muscle relaxants usually last approximately 4 months and offer significant improvement when it comes to the comfort of your jaw. Most people find that this length of time makes a big difference to the way they feel every day and their quality of life.

Bite Splints
A bite splint is a hard, thin plate that fits over the upper teeth. It provides a smooth surface that is comfortable to bite on, so that the jaw joint is not under pressure from the tooth position. The joint and disc within it can settle down, relieving swelling, and allowing for normal movement to return. It is usually worn every night to protect the joints and muscles from night-time grinding.
